This page covers the website, not the app
This policy is about eldris.io. The OOMU application handles your data on your own machine and is covered by its own policy at oomu.ai. Nothing you do inside the app is tracked by this website.
What this site collects
This website is a set of static pages. It has no accounts and shows no advertising.
We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how the site is used: which pages people read, roughly where visitors arrive from, and what we should improve. Both services process traffic data for us in aggregate. PostHog runs through our first-party reverse proxy (eldris.io/ingest/) in privacy-preserving mode without creating identified user profiles. Neither service tells us who you are, and neither is used for advertising.
We also record a few events so we can tell whether visitors find what they came for: which of advisory, research, or OOMU a link leads to, which kind of inquiry a contact link starts, and whether the contact form was started, ran into a problem, or was sent successfully. These events carry the page, the part of the page, and the purpose you chose. They never carry your name, your email address, anything you type, or the full address of the page.
You can opt out by declining analytics cookies or storage in your browser, using a tracker-blocking extension, or installing Google's opt-out add-on. None of that changes how the site works for you.
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. Those logs are used for nothing else.
When you contact us
The contact form sends what you type to a server we operate, which turns it into an email and delivers it to us through Mailjet, our email delivery provider. Nothing you enter in the form is stored in a database on this website.
We receive what you choose to send: your name, email address, the purpose you picked, and your message, plus anything you add in the optional fields, such as your organization, your role, or the follow-up questions shown for your purpose. We use it only to respond to you and to carry on the conversation you started. Depending on the purpose you pick, your message goes to the people at Eldris who handle that kind of inquiry.
If you tick the monthly brief box, we also add your email address to the list for the Eldris monthly brief. That box is unticked unless you tick it, it is separate from your inquiry, and you can ask us to remove you at any time through the contact page.
The form is screened by Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at how the page was used rather than at what you wrote, to keep automated submissions out. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that check.
Please do not send confidential client information, credentials, proprietary datasets, personal data about research participants, or privileged, classified, export-controlled, or otherwise sensitive material through the form. If an engagement calls for a secure exchange, we will arrange one after the first conversation.
We never sell your information, share it with third parties for marketing, or add you to mailing lists you didn't ask for.
Signing in
Accounts on this site are set up by Eldris. When you sign in, we set two cookies: one that keeps you signed in, which scripts on the page cannot read, and one that only tells the site's menu that you are signed in. Both end when you sign out or after twelve hours. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, never as the password itself. We record sign-ins and failed attempts, with the address used, to protect accounts.
Third-party links
This site links to and loads services from external providers, including Google Analytics, PostHog, Google reCAPTCHA, oomu.ai, and LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Data retention and your rights
Correspondence is kept only as long as it's useful for working with you. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, through the contact page on this site.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. We won't quietly loosen it.
